Released in December 2000, ‘Kingdom Under Fire: War of Heroes’ was the first of the Kingdom Under Fire series to be launched.
At the time of its release, it set a record of the largest package sales in Korea. Kingdom Under Fire was highly adored by its fans and was considered the only opponent of the super hit game ‘StarCraft’. It operated a Wargate server, which supported ladder games, league games, and tournaments for online players.
The game was released worldwide in more than 30 countries. In 2000, KUF won the Excellence Award in the PC Game category at the ‘2000 Game Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and in 2001, it was named as ‘The Great Video of 2000’ in the PC Game category in an event hosted by the Video Rating Review Committee.
